Kristen is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Arizona. She is a qualified expert in the John Barnes Approach to Myofascial Release®. She has received extensive training from John Barnes himself. Myofascial release is not a massage. Myofascial is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Myofascial release is performed directly on skin without oils, creams and machinery. This enables the therapist to accurately detect fascial restrictions and apply appropriate amount of sustained pressure to facilitate a release of the fascia. During myofascial release treatments, you may be treated in areas that you don't realize are related to your condition. The trained therapist will have a thorough understanding of the fascial system and be able to detect areas that have strong "drag" on an area of injury. This is, therefore, a whole body approach to treatment.
